New Ways to Recycle Used Cooking Oil

GLEN ROCK APARTMENTS JOINS THE COOKING OIL RECYCLING PROGRAM

The lovely new recycling bin at the Glen Rock Apartments

Blue Ridge Biofuels’ Cooking Oil Recycling Program allows residents of Western North Carolina to responsibly recycle their used cooking oil for the production of biodiesel. There are currently used cooking oil collection bins at over 30 locations across Western North Carolina and we are excited to add another. Mountain Housing Authorities’ Glen Rock Apartments located at 372 Depot Street in Asheville, NC, is now hosting a used cooking oil collection bin which will be available to residents of the apartments and other members of the near-by community.

The Glen Rock Apartments are located adjacent to the Glen Rock Depot in the beautiful River Arts District. This innovative development provides residents with solar hot water and energy star appliances. Conveniently located between Downtown and West Asheville, there are many shops in the Glen Rock Depot that would be worth visiting after recycling your used cooking oil! To learn more visit the Glen Rock Apartments website.

HARD-2-RECYCLE MAKES ITS ROUNDS TO NORTH BUNCOMBE

If you’ve got hard-to-recycle items that you’d like to responsibly dispose of, bring them by the next Hard-2-Recycle Event at the Weaverville Town Hall on June 14th from 10am-2pm. The list of accepted materials varies from event to event so be sure to check out the Asheville Greenworks website to see the full list of participants. We’ll be there accepting used cooking oil!
