Heat Your Home (or business) With Biodiesel!

Our BioHeat blend can be used in ANY #2 oil furnace without retrofitting the furnace. Our BioHeat blend is compatible with all furnaces and will not damage your fuel oil furnace. 98% of Bioheat customers never experience problems, but 1% to 2% may experience minor maintenance issues if excessive sludge is present in the system prior to Bioheat use. These issues can generally be addressed when your annual tune-up is performed. At this time, biodiesel blends are NOT recommended for "Monitor type" kerosene heaters unless you have a Toyotoma "Monitor type" heater that is designed to use # 2 fuel oil (also known as fuel oil or heating oil).

Why do sell only blends and not pure biodiesel for heating purposes?

Pure biodiesel (non-blended) can be used in oil furnaces. However, there are some technical precautions and retrofits that need to be addressed when using blends containing concentrations of biodiesel higher than B20 (a mixture of 20% biodiesel and 80% diesel). We are currently offering only B20 or B10 (depending on the type of biodiesel feedstock available) for heating oil until further experimentation and research is conducted on higher blends.
